Jennifer’s abilities as a skilled practitioner in acupuncture mean she has a completely unique approach to microneedling. She believes the treatment can have a holistic impact on your wellness and skin rejuvenation. Jennifer is adept at providing you with specific results in association with enhancing certain aspects of your facial features.
The microneedling process can give you a younger and more vibrant look, as well as boosting collagen production and improving the elasticity of your skin. The benefits of microneedling enable you to see a dramatic difference in your appearance by using a holistic technique.
Jennifer integrates a combination of microneedling with energizing concentrated Chinese herbal serums and light therapy, which can soothe and rejuvenate your skin.
The principal difference between acupuncture and microneedling is the amount of time the needles are in the skin. Microneedling utilizes tiny pin pricks in the skin which are incredibly fast; the acupuncture process requires ultra-fine needles which remain in one point for a longer period of time. Whereas microneedling treats your entire face, acupuncture focuses on an area where you have a blockage of energy anywhere in the body. Microneedling is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that improves your skin tone and texture.
Microneedling is also known as collagen induction therapy in Western medical and cosmetic practices. Jennifer uses the tiny needles to create very small, controlled skin injuries. The benefits of the microneedling process include triggering your body’s healing ability, sending factors to the site of the pin pricks to stimulate collagen and elastin production.
Having strong collagen and elastin fortifies and supports your skin, highlighting your best features.
By puncturing your skin, microneedling can stimulate collagen and elastin production in the deeper layers of the dermis. The result gives your face a tighter, brighter look, and can aid in reducing the appearance of scars, wrinkles, and large pores. The procedure can also help to reduce sagging, which happens as your skin loses elasticity with age.
Typically, microneedling is used in Western medicine on your face. Jennifer can use it to help with other areas of your body to boost your collagen production, leaving your skin looking rejuvenated and revitalized.
Jennifer Ryan, LAc can use the process to help alleviate the following conditions:
Jennifer knows that having a needle based treatment can cause anxiety for some patients. She has created a calming and relaxing environment at her practice in Playa Vista and is proud to provide superior quality treatment. Your well-being and peace of mind is her top priority.
Jennifer will walk you through the process and conduct an in-depth consultation so she can specifically address your concerns and target your needs. To further optimize your treatment, you will have a facial that has been tailored to your specific skin type and condition.
Red light therapy (RLT) utilizes low wavelength red light which may reduce wrinkles, scars and acne, as well as boost your skin's youthful appearance.Jennifer also introduces a 20 minute LED light treatment, or infrared lamp treatment focusing on your face and neck.
LED light therapy can reduce activity in your sebaceous glands, so they produce less of the oil that can plug the hair follicles, which leads to acne. Blue light is also thought to kill acne-causing bacteria known as Cutibacterium acnes.
You can sit back and relax as the light therapy induces collagen production in your skin. Typically, patients seeking to heal acne scars and reduce acne can benefit most from LED and infrared light therapy.
Jennifer uses the AcuMicro micropen for your microneedling treatment, which focuses on reducing fine lines, wrinkles and scars. The pen utilizes 12 extremely fine, sterile needles to penetrate your skin during the treatment, just enough to stimulate collagen and elastin production without permanent injury to the skin.
The process improves skin texture and color and can enhance effectiveness of skincare products leaving you with a youthful glow.
Typically your treatment will take around an hour, which will be delivered as you lay back and relax in the comfort of the practice room. Microneedling is a process that has been designed to maximize your comfort. You should see results within a few days after your treatment, but typically it will be more noticeable in around three weeks. Usually, patients can wear makeup within 1–2 days of having a treatment, and Jennifer advises the use of moisturizer after having your session. She also advises not to go out in direct sun, and make sure you use sunscreen every day as your skin will be sensitive. The typical time between your treatments is around four weeks between sessions.
